Tennis Elbow/Tendonitis?

Many of our patient's do repetitive movements that can lead to an overuse of the joint soft tissue resulting in Lateral epicondylitis or tennis elbow presents as pain on the lateral side of the elbow joint and is made worse with use. This pain is the result of irritation or the soft tissue that controls the motion of the joint. This is often due to biomechanical alteration of the joint motion or subluxation. When the tendon becomes irritated and the abnormal motion of the joint is not restored to normal the pain will continue to worsen. In some individuals the pain and irritation will become severe enough that certain motions may not be possible until the problem is resolved. Some movements as easy as gripping a jar, or grasping anything.

Epicondylitis often requires interventions that will not only help to reduce the inflammation but restore the normal function of the joint to prevent the problem from returning. Our team will evaluate your case and determine the root cause and help you to properly return to normal activity without pain. Each individual case varies in the treatment options, but extremity adjustments combined with another passive modality such as Ultrasound and light elbow bracing are shown to be very effective in the treatment of epicondylitis.
